Will speaks with Keven Walker of the Shenandoah Valley Battlefield Foundation about the Shenandoah Valley historical district, which encompasses not only several civil war battlefields but also wineries, restaurants, museums and many other family activities.
Visit the Shenandoah Valley
Civil War battlefields are scattered all throughout the valley,
extending from Winchester, VA all the way down to
Waynesboro, VA.
Besides being able to visit the battlefields of McDowell,
Cross Keys, Port Republic, New Market, and Waynesboro, you can
visit the many sites surrounding the city of Winchester itself.
Just around the city of Winchester, you have:
- 1st - 3rd battles of Winchester
- Rutherford's Farm
- 1st & 2nd battles of Kernstown
