Vol. XI, Episode 6

Charles Skillen - 14th New York Infantry

At the Hayes Presidential Center, Michael Fahle shares another amazing collection of items with us. This grouping of uniform items belonged to a New York officer that gave everything to help preserve the Union. The coat in particular provides clues to the man's story and it has quite the story itself on how it resurfaced generations after it was worn in battle.
